Greetings and thank you for visiting me here! Most people are a little nervous going to a new dentist, and we understand that. We take care of so many people who used to be nervous, but once they learn they can trust us, their anxiety disappears. We’re glad to guide you through that process.

So, welcome, and please know you will be respected, appreciated and well cared for in our office.

I was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, one of eight children. After completing my degree in chemistry at Whittier College, I spent two years in West Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer, teaching science and learning new languages and loving the shift to a completely different culture. Upon my return I went straight into UCLA to begin my dental education. I finished early, receiving many honors along the way. During my final year I was moved to an advanced clinic normally reserved for post-grads, and I also completed a Masters in Public Health.

From there I moved to Seattle (UW) for a year of extensive training in hospital dentistry, which included treating patients with all types of disabilities, including phobias, and lots of emergency room time. While honing my skills in dentistry, I also graduated from backpacking to real mountaineering on the many glacier-covered playgrounds all around Seattle. This physical challenge was every bit as exciting as the mental ones in school.

Upon my return to the sun, I taught half-time in the department of fixed prosthodontics (crowns and bridges) at UCLA and worked in Santa Clarita for the other half. Once I was sure that Santa Clarita was the place I wanted to call home, I built my own office here. I designed it like I wanted my own home to feel--inviting, relaxing, with personal touches. I chose dentistry because it is a perfect blend of artwork and science. Every treatment is a tiny work of art, while science forms the basis for choices in materials and design. What I enjoy most about my work is becoming friends with the many people who trust me with their smile. It is a joy for me to be able to guide someone through their fears and treatment needs so that in the end they are happy and healthy, and excited about keeping it that way! I continue to be impressed by, and blessed by the many wonderful people who have walked through my doors. They feel like family to me and it really is a privilege to be invited into their lives.

When at home I cherish my six children and take them with me on outdoor adventures. I have participated in just about every sport imaginable at some point in my life, but right now I’m mostly into cycling, along with some running and swimming. I’ve done a few dozen Ironmans, countless marathons, climbed crazy mountains—anything outdoors is fantastic. I coach on the local high school mountain bike team and cheer like a maniac for my kids when they do their sports. My husband is a brilliant engineer and he also coaches running. I love the values of hard work, good sportsmanship, kindness, teamwork, setting goals and working toward them, and my favorite—whatever you do, do it well! My whole family is active in our church. Love and laughter fills our home and that spills over into my workplace.

I look forward to meeting you! We welcome the whole family, from toddlers to great-grandmas. You will find us to be punctual, honest, kind and realistic. See you soon!
